The Search That Never Stops

Point B:

As a parent, you watch your children grow and recognize their features that resemble ones of yourself. Sometimes it’s very obvious but other times it’s not.

After I relinquished my daughter, I looked into the faces of all the girls of her age and wondered if she could be my daughter. But then the next question I asked myself was ‘Would I even recognize her?

Point A

I had never been to the town of my birth. So while in high school I asked to go there for vacation. Well unexpectedly it drove me crazy! Every face could have been a family member’s. Would they even recognize me?

Years later, after reunion, I drove through the town again. It had a whole new feeling. I no longer needed to look into everyone’s face. It was a beautiful city now. It was my beginning instead of my ending!

Image 2 Text on image of highway signs: One sign reads “The People of Iowa Welcome You.” Next to it, a green road sign says: “Quatervois: (n.) a crossroads; a critical decision or turning point in one’s life.”
